privacy policy

what we collect and what we don't. last updated May 2026.

short version: we collect what we need to run the site, nothing else. no analytics tracking, no ad networks, no third-party trackers, no selling your data.

what we collect

• your email and username when you sign up. your username is public — it's how you appear in chat. your email is private and used for things like password reset (when that exists) and the rare important account email.
• your password, hashed with bcrypt. we never see or store your actual password. nobody at artwae can read it.
• your chat messages. these are public to everyone in the chat by definition. recent messages are kept so they can be shown as history when someone opens the page.
• a session cookie when you log in. it's a random token that maps to your account on our end. it's how the site remembers you across page loads.
• your tracks when you upload (once uploads exist). title, file, and any metadata you choose to add.

what we don't collect

• no analytics scripts (no GA, no Mixpanel, no Plausible, nothing).
• no advertising trackers.
• no fingerprinting.
• no third-party social embeds that phone home.

where it lives

everything is stored on the same server that runs artw.ae. we don't hand your data to other services. the radio metadata endpoint and any hosted audio also live on our infrastructure.

how long

account data sticks around as long as your account exists. chat history is currently capped at the most recent few hundred messages. if you want your account and data deleted, email us and we'll do it.

cookies

one cookie, named artwae_session. it's set when you log in, cleared when you log out. that's the only cookie we use.

kids

artwae isn't designed for children under 13. if you're under 13, please don't sign up.

changes

if this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above. for meaningful changes we'll also note them on the site.
